Mama Girl
Mama Girl (May 2006):

When I met Mama Girl for the first time I knew she would change
my life. She was so spirited, loving and was true to her name.
She became the second mother of the house. She would watch
out for everyone individually never picking favorites. If someone
(human or animal) rough housed too much for her taste she put
a stop to it diplomatically yet genuinely. She had a love about
her that with a simple head on your lap and a small sigh you
knew that if she could say she loved you with her whole heart
that she would. She was extremely attentive, very obedient,
loved to cuddle and would play like a puppy when the mood
struck her. When we found out she was stricken with cancer at
the tender age of 5, we knew that what was needed was for us to
adopt her ourselves and keep her in comfort until her body
could no longer handle it. Although at times she was in obvious
discomfort she was a trooper and would not let that affect her
being your companion. She would still get up to greet you or
ask to cuddle with you and she stayed the same dog I met and
loved until her last breath. In the short year I had Mama Girl she
became as much a major part of our family as if she was ours
from her first breath. Something I miss seeing most was when
bedtime came her and OD would look for each other before
entering our room to settle in for the night as if they were an old
married couple who could not go to bed without one another.
Once they made eye contact there was a sparkle in both of them
and they would find their way to our room snuggle up in their
bed together than snore together until morning. I love and miss
her so much! RIP Mama Girl
