Chloe the
best in her
new forever
home!
Chloe
Chloe came to our family as a foster dog with a bit of an unknown
background. The things we knew about her past saddened us and we
were not sure how this dog would be temperamentally. Here is what
we do know; Chloe is estimated to be around 2 years old. We know
she has had puppies and came to us unspayed. The shelter was told
she was not house broken, in fact someone even said she was
"un-house trainable". We know that she has a run-in with a porcupine
and has some scars to show for it. We know she spent a lot of time
running loose outdoors. When her owner was out of the picture we
know she was turned in to an animal shelter. When at the shelter she
was put in a kennel with her breeding partner and a female pit bull
because of overcrowding. There was a big fight and she has some
scars from that as well.

Not knowing what to expect, we were so thrilled to find out what a
wonderful dog Chloe is. She is so mild mannered and sweet
tempered. The first day she was a bit unsure of her surroundings and
startled at any noise she heard, but it did not take her long to warm up
to us and her new house. By the middle of the next day we had fallen
for her. She just wanted to snuggle and be snuggled. She slept in our
bed and by the 3rd night was sleeping through the night along with
our cat.
By the third day we decided we wanted to adopt her; we could not
imagine not having her around. The kids adore her and she loves
every second of it, letting them rub her belly and ears as much as they
want.  I have often heard the kids telling Chloe (Chlo-Chlo as they call
her) how happy they are that we are going to keep her.

She is doing excellent on her house training, and even last night she
was waiting at the door to the basement where we take her outside.
We have yet to hear her bark; she watches everything and everybody,
but does not bark or pull on her leash when we see dogs or other
people.

Our biggest problem with Chloe is getting her out of bed in the
morning so we can all get out the door on time!  She loves to be near
us and will not be in room by herself for long. She comes to find one of
us (usually me) and she'll lay by my feet or the nearest couch and
keep me within eyesight and just be content to be near. She does not
play with her bones or toys much, she just likes to be by us watching
or sleeping.   We feel like we have "rescued" Chloe with a warm bed,
good food and a lot of love; but as all boxer lovers know we get as
much back from her as she gets from us.
