Hello. My name is Stewie and I am a happy boy now. I had a luxated patella (a
dislocated kneecap) and just got it fixed, woohoo!! Even before my surgery I could
run and play like it was nothing. But I will be better than ever now! Let me tell you
about myself, I have to keep the lowdown for the next 3 weeks because of the
surgery, which will be very hard for me because I hate being confined. I sleep well
in my crate during the night but I hate being in it during the day. I whine and cry.
But that is the only thing that is bad about me!
I am 18 months old and can do all sorts of tricks. I know the basic commands, and I
would do practically anything for a treat. I am good with other dogs – but prefer
not to be around dominant dogs that can get aggressive. I love female dogs, oh boy
do I!! I rode to Hinckley with Patch today (another MNBR dog) and she was giving
me kisses the whole way there, I felt like a STUD!
I am fully potty trained and just whine when I need to go outside. My foster
mommy thinks I am hilarious when I play with my “egg” – please see the video
link to watch how good I am. She even says I could play soccer, I dribble so well.
But I would steal the show, so I will stick with my own games! I tolerate cats but
sometimes want to chase them (only when they run…. Right now I am laying in my
foster mom’s bed with my foster brother and a CAT! But if she jumped off the bed
and ran, I would want to chase her).
I love kids but might need to be watched around new kids that I meet because I
like to jump up on them. I also bark when the doorbell rings, but someone needs to
let my owners know that there is a stranger at the door! Otherwise I rarely bark.
I need an owner who has experience with dogs, and can make sure I know where I
fit in the pack. A good, strong pack leader would be perfect for me. I get anxious if
I don’t know where I belong.
Once you meet me and fall in love with me and take me home, it will take about 2
days for me to get comfortable, so please bear with me on that one! I have been
moved around a lot lately and now that my leg is fixed, am finally ready for my
forever home!
Other things about me – I have a very soft fur coat, and I have my tail and
dewclaws. I am just under 60 lbs and probably won’t get much bigger, unless it is
just filling out. My previous owners said that I have a sensitive stomach but that is
not the truth – I just didn’t like the cheap food they gave me! I have not had any
problems at all on the high quality, no by-product food that I have been eating for
the past month!
That is about it for me. I just want someone who wants to spend time with me and
cuddle me a lot! Kids and other dogs are fine. Please email MNBR if you are
