Slim

Sorry it took me a few days to send these, but here are some pictures of Slim! In the ones where he is sitting against the couch, we think he's so funny! He sits like that every night while Allyn and I eat dinner at the table and watches us! We think he looks a little bit like a walrus in that pose.  You may also notice in the one where he is asleep on the floor, he is snoozing with a green bean. He snagged one of the fresh ones that I was snapping and decided to play with it for a while and then fell asleep. No need to eat it, just play with it. :-)

I have given him a Kong with pb a few times as a treat, but he doesn't really get it. He licks it for a few minutes and then is off to do the next thing.

What else from the world of Slim...he seems to be gaining a bit of muscle and loves his walks! His energy and stamina are pretty good! We have been doing regular 30 minute walks and he gets along just great. We try to go in the morning when it is cool and I think that he does the best then.

I was noticing this morning how well he has adjusted to the schedule and our home and it's only been a few weeks. In the beginning we would have to put on his leash at night and in the morning and would have to beg him to come up or down the stairs. Now he runs right up or down according to time of day. He just loves bedtime and races upstairs. He won't get into his bed and settle down until he is sure that we are tucked safely in our bed. Last night he was snoring so loud, he kept Allyn awake! Impressive that so much noise can come from such a little (sort of) dog.

We just love all of the funny little things that he does. One thing that is new for us to is that he is a big licker, we haven't had that in any of our dogs before. It's kind of gross, but funny too. When I come home from work he will lick any exposed body part with excitement, arms, legs, toes, face, doesn't matter! Sometimes when I am doing the dishes or cooking, he just comes up and starts licking my leg.

Okay, one more funny story. My parents came to visit last weekend and he enjoyed having new people around. My Mom has this canvas tote bag that she carries around and Slim decided that was HIS! I have never seen him so hard to distract from something. He really tried to grab it from her and when she put it down, he tried to drag it away! He completely stuck his head in the bag too. It was hilarious! That's mine!

Thanks again for getting Slim off to such a wonderful start, he is doing just fantastic and Allyn and I are so happy with him!

Best,
Alice, Allyn and Silm
