                                  ~Hey Everyone~

It’s been 3 weeks since my surgery and I am feeling Soooooooooo much
better I just had to send you an update.  For those of you that are not aware
of my situation, here’s the scoop. I came to MNBR with a torn ligament and

I had TPLO surgery on December 22nd. (thank you so much to those of you
that donated to help cover the cost of my surgery…we still have a ways to go-
so if you can spare a couple of dollars that would be great!)

I have been getting lots of TLC from my foster family including: ice packs,
stretching and now I can go on some short
walks. I still have to stay confined to a small area when I am in the house so I
do not re-injure my knee. And I have to tell you, as an 18-month-old boxer,
this is the hardest part!!! I just want to play with the kids and dog at my foster
home. I’m just glad they are so good about coming to pet me and give me
treats that I do not mind too much.

Also, I came in with Demodex mange and I have been getting medicine to get
that taken care of. OUCH!!! I hate the Shots, but they are only once every two
weeks until the mange gets cleared up so I guess I can live with that because
I already look and feel so much better.

My foster mom always talks about how well trained I am…well, when you
love treats like I do and all you have to do to get some is sit, lay down and
stay---that’s easy!! I am really good with the kids and dog at my foster home.
I get excited to see them, but I settle down pretty quickly.

Oh, I need to tell you that I do have some allergies. My test results show my
allergies are to stuff like Alder and Birch trees, pollen and mold. I have
always been treated with Benadryl during allergy season and I would need
for you to do that for me as well.

My foster mom keeps telling me that it will not be hard to find a forever
home because I am so beautiful and well behaved.  Please let her know if
you interested because I can hardly wait to start meeting people even though
I will not be ready to adopt until March. She says that if I do a good job with
my exercises that maybe we can start to meet people in February to let
someone fall in love with me!

See you soon.

Adoption fee = $400.00
Age: 18 months
Update March 10, 2009

I had my allergy test last weekend and found out I am allergic to some
grasses, pollen and dust mites. I have started taking allergy shots which do
not bother me too much because they come with a great treat at the end! I need
to have shots every other day for a month then by the third month I will need a
shot every 21 days. It may take from 4-12 months to determine if the shots will
work for me, but the good news is that they help in 80% of the cases. If they
work I will need to keep taking a shot every 21 days for the rest of my life. It
seems a little troublesome but really, if it makes me feel better, I say it’s really
not that big of a deal, right? I get to take the shots at home so I don’t have to
keep running to the doctor.

My leg is doing great and I will be ready to go next week…I love to meet new
people and would love to find my forever home soon.

Thanks,

Roxie
