Kat is an absolutely great dog. She is about 50 pounds but seems smaller than that. She appears to be housebroken as she has had no accidents in the house. She does not like going into her kennel but doesn't seem to mind it once she is in there. She has jumped our 4 ft. fence several times in pursuit of squirrels. She hasn't done it in a couple of days as we have told her 'no' once she gets close to the fence. She has also figured out how to open our gate but this was easily remedied by adding a small clip to the gate. A five foot fence or taller would be ideal, but a four foot would probably work if there are no high spots in the ground around it.
Here are some additional insights as to what makes Kat such a great dog:
-We took her to the dog park and she got along great with other dogs, even in large packs.
-She loves squeaky toys.
-She is very good around the neighborhood kids when we take her for a walk. She walks very well with a harness. We will give the harness to the new owner.
- She has learned some basic commands like 'sit' and 'down'. She learns best when there are few distractions.
- She rides very well in the car.
- She does great in the kennel while we are at work all day
- She does not sit and beg for food while we are eating. She lies down on the floor away from the table.
- She was a little leary of steps at first, but now has no problems with our carpeted stairs.
I just can't say enough good things about Kat. She is an absolute doll and will make someone a VERY luck owner!!!
