Hi - my name is Joe, Joe Boxer.  I am a 2-yr old neutered boy.  My past is
patchy - I really can only tell you about the last few months...I came to my
current foster mom from Animal Ark No-Kill Shelter (a great place, but not
a home).  I had been there for about 3 weeks before she brought me home.
Sadly, I had been there before and was adopted but after a few months, I
was returned.  You see, I really love people and I really do not like being
left alone.  The family I was living with had to be gone too long during the
day and I was just too lonely.  I didn't do well in my crate for that long
period of time and I got into mischief if I was out for too long - I'm not a
bad dog at all - I just don't like being alone.  Currently, when my foster
mom goes to work, I go to the neighbors and hang out.  She's left me for
small periods of time and I've cried a lot but haven't been bad yet.

Other than that, I am super sweet.  I want nothing more than to sit on your
lap or lay at your feet and be loved.  I do great with other dogs and am
learning how to behave with cats.  I had never seen them before and they
sure seemed like they could be fun - but my foster mom tells me to "leave
it" a lot so I am guessing I shouldn't play too rough with them.

One other thing - I do take meds for seizures.  I have only had one in the
past 5 months so my meds are working well.  The doctors and my other
family did a lot to get my meds regulated so it is important I stay on them.
They are about 60$ a month.

I really want to find my forever home, my forever people, my forever
place.  Might you have some wiggle room for me?  Do you work from
home or are you retired?  Are you patient and willing to work with me?
Are you looking for a beautiful, super sweet Boxer who needs some
encouragement and some understanding?  If so, please let someone at
MNBR know!  I've rambled enough - now its my mom's turn...
***Update***

Hello again - Joe Boxer here.  Well, I've been in my new digs for just over
2-weeks and I must say, things are going pretty well.  Turns out, I don't think I
have true separation anxiety, I just don't like to be alone!  My new mom has other
dogs and she has to leave me with them each morning for 3-hours and I have not
caused ANY problems at all.  Well, maybe I got into something she left too close
to the edge of the kitchen counter (but that could have been my foster-sister who
pulled it off - she does that sometimes!).  I really like that foster-sister, she is my
age and likes to play as much as I do - that's us on the black dog-bed, I'm on the
left.  The other 2-dogs are older than us and they don't like me too much yet:(
But I'm working on them - how can anyone NOT like me?  Jeez!

My foster-mom didn't know this at first but I showed her that I know how to sit,
down, shake, stay and I'll usually come when called - I need to work on it though
because if I'm playing hard...well, I am a dog after all!  But I am very smart and
learn things quickly.  Truly I am a really good boy!  Come see!
Hi - I'm Karen, Joe's foster mom.  I think he described himself perfectly.  He is a super sweet boy, not
overly rambunctious, and no bad habits that I have seen - I know he has some separation anxiety
issues, but I do not yet know the extent as I have not had to leave him for any length of time.  He's
house-trained, I have yet to hear him bark (so he's not a guard dog!), does great with my other dogs, my
kids (ages 9-20) and all types of people.  He is new to cats, and does have to be somewhat monitored as
he thinks they look like great playmates;  "Joe, leave it" does the trick though.  He will require a home
where he will not be separated for long periods of time or one where his new owners will work with
him on being separated.  Other than that, you couldn't ask for a sweeter Boxer
