Hi everyone! My name is Hogan and I am a handsome flashy brindle boy. I was found as a stray and somehow I ended up in a high-kill shelter. Not sure how that happened, but I’m happy I am out! I love my foster parents and my foster sister, Jersey the boxer. She didn’t know if she liked me at first, but I liked her right away and just told her to “chill” and now we’re friends. I LOVE to eat! I’ll eat whatever and whenever. Everyone says I’m skinny, but I feel just fine. I lost track of how old I am. People are telling me one, two, three, four. I dunno. I think people should keep track of that, not me.
I love walks and especially when rabbits go by I want to follow them SO bad, but my foster dad says “no”. I don’t like being left alone – I get scared and throw things around if I am left out by myself. But if my foster sister is close by, I don’t mind it as much. My foster mom and dad said they’re bringing the crate out, so I’ll see what that’s all about I guess.
So far, my favorite things about my new foster house are the belly rubs, walks and FOOD!
Hi – this is Hogan’s Foster Mom. He’s only been here for a few days but we are loving having him here. He is a beautiful and very sweet boy. I was surprised at how remarkably well adjusted he is overall given where he’s been this past month. He seems to get along great with other dogs. When our boxer girl tried to get bossy with him, he just shook it off. Hogan loves to snuggle and give kisses. He adores belly rubs and is very food motivated.
Hogan is definitely a “velcro” dog and likes to be right at your side. It’s early to tell, but it appears as though he may have serious separation anxiety as he is destructive when left alone. We’re pulling out the crate today and will be figuring out more about this in the coming week, so stay tuned. He needs work with potty training, house manners (loves to counter surf), and jumping on people. That said, families with small children may want to take note.
Overall, he’s just a big sweet dorky boy!
