Hello EVERYONE!

My name is now Archie or Archibald--although that is not my original name so I am still
learning it.  My foster mom told me I was a pound puppie and that is why she had to give me a
new name, but I don't mind cause I just LOVE people.  You can call me whatever you like and I
will answer with a big boxer kiss.  I am approximately 2 years old (maybe younger the vet
said)--I need you to pick a birthday for me--all the more reason to get treats!

Today I spent the entire day on the dock fishing.  This is by far my new favorite activity.  I don't
want to go in the water, just sit and watch the boats, ducks and fish.

Even though I have only been with my foster family for a few days, I have made myself at home
and warmed up great.  My foster mom calls be a big clumsy oaf--I haven't grown accustom to
my big muscles yet and would like help leanring.  I have a very soft mouth and am extra careful
when I take treats from little fingers.  I know how to sit pretty well--sure helps if you have a treat
to show me first!  I am also good at "come".  Great thing is I don't jump on people or do the
typical "boxing" behaviors that our breed is well known for--and I am still considered a puppy.
I would like a fenced yard or need to be on a leash when I am outside because I can run like
mad.

I am working really hard on learning my leash manners (I like to pull when I see something that
is interesting).  I have gone on early morning or late night walks everyday and each walk my
mom says I do better and better.   I TOLD her I was a smart pup.

Here is my foster mom...

Archie is an absolute JOY!  He is very strong boxer who has long muslclar legs.  He is a
beautiful color too--ideal boxer look in my opinion.  His background is unknown, but he has
shown no aggression towards humans at all--on the contrary he has been nothing but loving.  He
greats strangers very appropriately and is not a jumper or barker.  He has done well with older
kids and was very good when we had company over. He has been introduced to a 3 year old
and gave him a wet sloppy kiss and took a treat from him great, BUT he is still untrained and
has "puppy" in him so I would NOT recommend a home with younger kids.  Children over 8
year old have been doing great with him as long as they know he can knock them over if he gets
excited or is not paying attention.  He is very food motivated and will whine and talk to you
until you give him his treat.  He is learning he only gets a treat when he obeys a command and
is catching on quickly to this. The only concern with Archie is he has a strong preditory drive.
He would do best being the only animal in the house, especially no cats.  He has been
introduced to a few other dogs and does fine with some, other not so well--He is always on a
leash with me so it is easier to stop him and correct him if he encounters another dog.  It doesn't
matter if they are male or female--but from what I can tell, if the other dog shows aggression
Archie is not one for backing down.  I would suggest he be the only dog in the house.

Archie is a perfect canidate for obedience training and it would be a great way for his adoptive
family to bond with him.  He is crate trained and house broken.  He can wait to go to the
bathroom for up to 8 hours and hasn't had an accident yet.

This pup will give back to his forever family for years.  Help Archie with his second chance at
life!

Please ask questions or e-mail if interested in this young pup.
